BOOM!

Surprise! IT'S WHEELJACK!!!

In the IDW/G1 style this time! But what happened to his FACE?
You can actually SEE it... Er-mah-gerrrd!

It was a super rainy weekend starting on January 20th, and I actually welcomed the rain to put me into a drawing mood.... which, actually, it did! I had a little drawing spree of sorts on January 22, and though this was the third doodle-sketch I did, it ended up being the one I wanted to finish. Badly. Like, I wanted so badly to finish this one and make him look all pretty-like. Because, you know... Wheeljack is awesome.

Some time ago, I was able to get my hands on purchasing the first 5 comic book volumes of what used to be called Transformers: Robots in Disguise by IDW (now referred to as just "Transformers" aka "TF ex-RID".). And Wheeljack is in that series and he's SUPER FRICKIN' COOL in it. Oh my frucking God, just badass awesome. So when the rain came, I looked for some image references of IDW Wheeljack I wanted to use .... and got started!

I mainly used a reference with art done by Mr. Brendan Cahill. I love how he draws him!  So as much as I want to take ALL the credit for this art piece, I won't, hehe. But the reference helped a lot with the angle, and I actually had to mirror-reverse the reference so I could draw him facing this way. At least I had a lot of fun "unmasking" him in the drawing, hehe. NOTE: I realize I didn't draw his missile launcher, so let's just say this was before he graduated to scientist-soldier and was still only a younger scientist here.

Anyway, my first time seeing Wheeljack in anything was TFP back in 2013, so when I finally discovered G1 later I thought he was a bit funny-looking at first, but yeah... he's cool and so adorable and the cutest thing and I just hnnghhh, sexy scientist!  IDW made him too gorgeous, oh my.

I debated whether or not to make his head-fins blink and just decided to have them blink where the mask is off... I figured if he's doing a little grunt or going "grr" about something he's upset about, that would count as him "talking," soooo... maybe his head-fins would still be blinking then? ( ===gets shot === )

_{I'm thinking of writing a short fic where he had a mentor who betrayed him, by tricking poor Wheeljack into helping build a device that ended up having an evil purpose. That's actually what inspired me to draw his angry face. Nyaw!}
